My New Health & Nutrition Site - 7/12/2003 18:23:48
I was hoping some of you could take a look at my Health & Nutrition Site. I put it together from scratch about a year and a half ago and have been tweaking it ever since in my very limited spare time.

Ya, I sell stuff, but I have tried to include a lot of helpful links and informative content. as well as a forum and other stuff.

I would really like to hear some professional opinions.

My design approach was being torn between offering a site that is simple and easy to use, but not too simple or unprofessional looking, with a good variety of features, buttons, pull down menus, links, on the home page.

I am hoping I achieved a balance, with a slight leaning toward the simple not too crowded side.

Thanks in advance for you candor!

Steven,

Two comments:
One, the background on some pages is enough different from your usual pages, that I momentarily thought I had somehow gone to another site.

Two, those horrible horizontal scroll bars show on my 17in monitor.

The popup and horizontal scroll would run me away without ever seeing more...

Steve,

:) In addition to the two previous posts which are valid, your site is vertically out of balance because of excessive space at the bottom of all pages (I visited) except " Books" which, apparently, is coming from another server. My 768x1024 resolution 17" monitor shows at least 6 inches of space between the last content entry and the bottom on, e.g., the home page.

Keep your chin up and keep working. You' ll get there!

Tested in Mozilla 800x600 56k modem. Took a while to load all the graphics but the text came up nice and fast. Bit too wide for 800x600 res. Might be nice to add link rollovers (just a couple of lines of CSS). Otherwise, a nice design. Good luck with it.
