Search Engine submission - 7/18/2003 11:48:12
Hi! I am a complete newbie but have recently launched my site and hopefully managed to create correct title/description/meta tags etc., The site is already listed on Google, Yahoo, AOL and some others but I have been told today that " You do know you have to re-submit your ' search words' weekly, don' t you or they go to the bottom of the pile!" I don' t for a second believe this person is particularly knowledgeable about this but I am now wondering whether I will need to re-submit on a regular basis. I hasten to add I haven' t submitted my search words anyway...I merely submitted my URL via various means and understand that such as Google can add a site without it actually being submitted.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks:)
Mojo

Your correct. The person has no clue :)

There is no need to submit your sites once you are in. All 3 of the sites you listed us Google results for the web searches. Yahoo has their own directory, but the Google search results are displayed first by default - the Y directory has lost a tremendous amount of traffic to the Google results.

Anyhow, once you are indexed in a Search Engine you don' t need to resubmit unless you break some serious TOS and are banned. Of course, you have to get caught first:)

Chances are Google would have scooped up your site on a scheduled crawl even if you hadn' t submitted the URL... :)
