Stats and source of visitors - 7/25/2003 5:49:24
Hi, I want to track visitors to a promotional " sales pitch" web page. Is it true that you can add stuff after a page name separated by a " ?" and it will list in your stats as another page eg www.mysite.com/promo.htm www.mysite.com/promo.htm?salestarget1 So the above two list as different pages on the stats so you know if a target has visited. Ta Steve

I normally create separate sales pages myself. If you log analizer will track this then I would see no problem with it. I did use this method on my last Google adwords run and it worked a charm. I was using Webalizer at the time for log file tracking. Brian

Thanks Brian, Your comments flag up the problem that it only works with some log software/services. I' ll have to check this out. I want to use this method as I am mailing 400 people and I can create 400 " ?" domainextensions quickley in Excell and then merge it. But obviously not point if the service wont handle it. Thanks Steve
