Search Term Confusion! - 8/3/2003 14:55:50
Hi all
does anyone know how I can find out what the different search terms are in relation to weight loss. Obviously the most important is WEIGHT LOSS but I want to optimise some pages with other terms and need to know what others are using to search on the subject apart from weight loss.
I do have stats that tell me lots of terms but these are only ones used to find my site and don' t indicate popular terms.

Thank you
Wayne

Hello wlw. One of the oldest stand bys is to perform searches at your favorite SE and review the sites that hold the top 10-15 positions.

You could also use the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool. The search counts will be somewhat inflated but they are fairly accurate in the types of terms you might want to target. Keep in mind that the more searches performed, the more competitive the term is. For example, weight loss was searched 400864 times during the month of 2003 June.

How competitive is the term weight loss? Not too bad at...

(Advertiser' s Max Bid: $2.07)

...per click. That bid is as of 2003-08-03 at 22:21 PST.
