Very much a work in progress so lots of non functional links, no metatags etc etcI am really interested to know what you think of using different bg colours for the different sections of the site. Does it work? Should we stick to one colour throughout? If so which one do you prefer - home page or What's on page? Comments about any other aspect of the site also welcomed. http://www.watergatekilkenny.com/ Thanks as always ------------------ Katherine www.inkkdesign.com -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* "Dogs have owners, cats have staff!"

Hi Katherine,I think the different bgs works a treat - the page structure is the same in each so it's not like you've felt you're on another site. Nice to see a different layout as well to the usual left hand menus that you see on so many (of my) sites. Looks very smart to me. Cheers Andy ------------------ Internet Business Solutions S.L. I think it works well, Katherine. I love the layout. You're missing a couple of </p> tags in the text on the right, throwing off your css in the last paragraph. Hope you let us look at it when it's finished. Sandy ------------------ www.alleghenyweb.com

Super layout. It looks great. Personally, I would stick to colors that are similar in feel(a personal preference). The first page and the purple fit together but the others have a whole different feel to me. Like spring and fall. Actually I just went back and looked again. The only one that really looks out of place to me is the red. I love the idea of the different colors just keep them all related somehow. All shades of green or all pastels or all primary or all across from each other on the color wheel... you get the idea. ------------------ Shirley There must be some kinda way out of here said the joker to the thief. I thought the colour on the homepage was nice. Very soothing on the eye. Then I went to the whats on page and immediately thought I preffered the homepage colour. Until, that is , it finished downloading, then I thought it was as nice as the homepage. And as previously mentioned, I think having a different colour for each page is a good idea. I wont get any more technical than that because some people would say I am colour blind.Very nice site, nice colours, P.S. I like the swish movie. Neil

Thanks for your input folks - I agree Shirley that the colour scheme was a bit all over the place but I have changed it around now and think it works better, I actually took the colours from a colour chart of historic paint colours.Where are you seeing the text off Sandy? I can't see it and have trawled the place looking for missing <p>'s in vain! ------------------ Katherine www.inkkdesign.com -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* "Dogs have owners, cats have staff!"

<p align="left">The comfortable 328 seat theatre is an intimate venue for artists and audience alike and plays an important role in the cultural life of Kilkenny. <p align="left">We look forward to welcoming you to the Watergate Theatre soon!"We look forward...." gets a little smaller, apparently because of no closing p tag after "Kilkenny." It's only doing it in NN. And I just noticed that it is showing default font in NN as well. Sandy ------------------ www.alleghenyweb.com

That's a lovely layout. Colours and fonts all super. I look forward to seeing it arrive, presume you will be taking the "home" link off the home page, and so on for the other pages. The logo gif at top-right on each page has a different shade background from the page itself, but that's easy to fix for you.Well done I am envious.

I'm a newbie both around here and to web design but wanted to say thats one of the nicest sites I've seen in a while. Love the layout. If you don't mind me asking is it done in Frontpage and how did you do the changing picture with the what I presume is Swish text. Anyway I luv the site.

Since Katherine hasn't seen this, yet, I'll jump in and answer your questions, if you don't mind.Yes, her site was created in FrontPage. The fading pictures were also done in Swish. Sandy ------------------ www.alleghenyweb.com
