Scott K,I tried to restrain myself but I just can't resist telling you this because the people who are regular contributors to this board are probably too nice do it.
Don't design your site for the 35 and over crowd. When you say "Most of my customers tend to 35 or over and so I have a huge navigation bar. " ,it's a bit insulting to the 35 and over. I can tell you as a "50 something and over" person, that if these people are internet-saavy enough to know how to access the internet and check out your site, they know the difference between a site with good or bad navigation, good or bad information.
Good navigation on a web site is good for anyone of any age whom you are trying to attract to your site. Approach your re-design with that attitude.
How to do it? I'm no expert and am just beginning to learn web design so I can't tell you how. Just know that you need to approach it with a different focus or attitude about your visitors/customers.
Your site has great information and just needs better organization and navigation. This you already know. People at this forum give great advice and can help you.
Just take this advice from me. Don't underestimate the ability of your uhm, (over 35) audience. I assure you, they are quite capable.
