What do you use to keep your book? I'm thinking of just buying a copy of Quick Books Small Business edition.

Thanks!
Rich

Rich,

I have used QuickBooks Pro through the past several upgrades. In addition to my own sole proprietor businesses (two). During the 1990s, I had a cabinetmaking business and all was done with QuickBooks. I currently do the books for two non-profit charities and eight 300 to 400 unit apartment buildings.
If you plan on doing payroll, it will work well. It creates all necessary payroll tax forms.

I have found that writing checks using QuickBooks, makes reconcilliation a no brainer...

When one buys TurboTax, it works great for automatic creation of the appropriate Schedule C, Schedule SE (Self Employment tax), and all depreciation stuff....

If you aren't doing your own tax preparation, QuickBooks Pro can prepare an Accountant's copy that your tax preparer can use, but can't change.

That's my 3 cents worth.
