dayglo -> first site help needed (2/18/2001 20:46:00)

I have just uploaded my partly done site - www.ukbirds.bizland.com - I have been told I would be better off without frames because search engines might have difficulty. But I really do not know how to do the navigation without them. I have the main headings on the top frame which open up sub headings in left frame. I dont want a navigations system that cant be viewed by x3 browsers etc. Can someone take a peek and see if they have any ideas. Only three links at the top go anywhere at the moment "local services" "Monkton Combe" and "News". Thanks

I agree with the idea of going without frames unless you have a case where you just can't do without them.

For your navigation bars, you might look into include pages. Your layout could look the same as what you have now, just without the frames.

Hi Dayglo,

The site looks great - good use of colours and looks like the content will be superb when it's all up.

I'd go along with Sandy and take a look at includes - they are extremely easy and flexible once you know their capabilities.

My Mum's side of the family are all from Wiltshire and I've spent many days in the Bath area - look forward to seeing the end result.

Cheers
Andy

Thanks for your kind comments Andy. Yes Bath and area is so beautiful, but I was ashamed at the lack of tourist information sites for the local villages which is why I set the site up, if I remember I will let you know when it is finished - hopefully by next millennium!!
