Redesign - 2/24/2001 20:15:00
Hi all,

I'm working on a few idea's for my new site design and was wondering if you all could let me know if I am heading in the right direction.

I know that I have 2 Java applets on the page, but the amount of other graphics I cut out has reduced the load time by 8 seconds.
I'd sure like to keep em both.

Welp...let me know what cha think please.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Kruiser,

Generally I think the site looks very smart.

Not sure why all the links on the home page need to open in a new window. The two logos at the top of your home page look a bit blurred to me - particularly the oval on the left and the words "5 Star Support" in the centre.

Otherwise it's looking very clean and stylish.

Cheers
Andy

Thanks Andy! I stuffed a couple of empty cells between the "5 Star Support" at the top center. That should fix the blur that you've seen.

I also stopped the browser from opening a new window. I thought it was pretty cool at first, but it's totally unnecessary.

Thanks a lot for the critique! I'm glad you like it.

Hi Kruiser.

It is looking nice. I would, however, keep one design throughout the site and keep fonts consistent.

It would probably look better and be easier to read if the font in the tab on the first page was the same as the other fonts. You could also make those links. I was tempted to click them.

Good luck with it...so much goooood info in there!

Hi Sandy,

I agree with what you're saying about the font in the tab. I will make that the same.

I am going to make the new design a part of all of the pages, but I want to make sure that it is a keeper before I redesign 108 pages.

I sure appreciate the critique!

Hi, Kruiser -

If I'm not too late... be sure to use an include page for at least the top part of the page, maybe a couple others for the left side and the bottom.

I really like the top with the tab how you have it now, but another color between the red and blue would be good. It'd be better with a thin constrasting line, IMHO. example: www.rubymarketing.com/images/5star.gif ...though a light blue from your logo might work better.

Would it be possible for you to use a database so you don't need so many total pages? It'd make it easer to keep up with the information, especially when the next redo comes along some day.
