New Site - Need Input - 3/2/2001 20:27:00
Still working on somethings but we're open for business. This is a business that my friend and I started and just got our new site uploaded. Any input would be helpful.

Hi!

Over all...nice, clean, simple look.

I would put the "skip intro/entrance" link at the top of the Intro page. It's not unusual for people to leave a site if they think they will have to sit through a Flash/Swish presentation.

My first question on entering your site was...Where are you? Are you in my neighborhood or in some other country? Your address, phone number, e-mail address, etc., should be found on your home page. It would be good to have some kind of contact information on each page...an e-mail address or phone number, at least.

You might consider doing something with your logo and/or header to add a little more visual interest.

The tiny text in the nav bar is hard to read. You might consider a san-serif font. (?)

The text would look more professional if it was left aligned or maybe justified (though justified doesn't always work well online).

It would also help appearances to add a little cell padding so your text doesn't hit the edge of the cell.

On the Web Design page, look at the English problems in the last paragraph..."Call APlus to get your companies web site up and running. We offer competitive pricing and are willing to work with you on your sites design." It should be "company's" and "site's." I didn't read all your text, so you might want to give it one more proof-read in case you missed something else.

On the Contact page, there is one e-mail address out of line.

Best of luck with it!!!
Sandy

With the Swish intro, I'd add a link to the swish (add to scene) so the whole thing is clickable, and also have the swish only play once and then redirect to the main page.

The moving text at the top of the pages is annoying. Either plain text or a small swish would be better.

Overall is has a good appearance. One or two graphics on each page, or even one good graphic at the top, would be a good addition.

Thanks for the input. I'll correct the spelling. I have been working on a graphical logo so that I don't have to use text. Now that you mention it the moving text is annoying. Thanks again.

Hi A+
Well, I am glad you are open for business, but it wasn't open for me. I just got an endless loading on the flash page. I thought the flash page looked classy, but after 5 minutes of watching it, I gave up.
Good Luck

The Flash loaded quick for me. If you get it to redirect when done playing that should solve the problem Turboguy had. (?)

Well I thought I would try it again. I have never had a problem with Swish or Flash. It still will not open for me. It has been looping now for over 5 minutes. I even tried right cliking and changing some settings with no luck.

Turbo, you have to scroll down the page to enter the site.

A+...that's a good lesson. If Turbo, who has built sites, is having to be told how to enter your site, there will likely be many others who cannot. This article could be a help to you: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20010204.html

I think it looks great, very professional. No complaints here. Did you use a template?

Much better. The flash still would not load, but even if I hadn't read about scanning down in the posts, you link to bypass the flash at the top was very obvious. Once I got in you have a great site. I thought you did a very good job with it.
