FrontPage2002 & Windows Server 2003 - slow publishing - 8/22/2003 0:30:04
My web host recently upgraded to server 2003. Now when I attempt to publish my sites, the process is slow. It takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to get the server to respond to the initial open request. It took over an hour to upload about 350KB.
According to my host, there is a "glitch" with server 2003 and FP2002. The "fix" from the host, is to reinstall server extensions and restart the services. This only lasted for a day, and we are back to turtle speed again. They say Microsoft knows about this, but there hasnt been any fix or response from MS.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is my host BS'ing me, or is this a real problem with server2003? If its true, does anyone know the status of the fix, or where to find more info on it?

well as far as I know AFAIK) a couple of hosting companies have "rolled back" to 2000
and I know for a fact IK4AF) one that has...
.net (full of holes), if you must code ASP, learn PHP
if you must switch hosts, switch to LINUX

My host, and I don't mind saying who - FASTHOSTS (Uk), have had terrible reliability problems with their 2003 server platform.
First i'm told, its the internet, then a local pc problem, then an ASP problem, then a script problem, then an Access problem etc etc
The claim to be working with MS to rectify the problem but to no obvious resolution.
So i'm off - hosting our own internal webserver - Windows 2000 server
