Uh...I don't get the point of the site. Is it your personal site? Is there more to it than outside links and a photo album?

The layout and colors are nice, but I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve.

Looks great! Functionally, I;m with Gil -- it's not that clear, but if it's not a business or a promotion site, it's not important

I really like the layout...love the colours. Like Sandy, I'm not sure "what" the site is...but I suppose those that come there are in the "know" and that's all that matters.

Because there are so many outside links I would strongly suggest you have them open in a "new window". That way, you won't lose people who will wander away on to another site...never to be seen again. And going by the photos I'd say that might just be a problem...a few drinkies, some ???? and they may not get back to your site for weeks..perhaps months! <I AM kidding ok?>

Also, maybe some text navigation at the bottom for pages on *your* site? "Feedback", "Other Stuff" etc. Or have the text in the brown bars BE the link to those pages?

I finally got in. ...received an error again, but this time it came up on refresh. It was probably just my connection.

Ditto the above. Looks very nice.

Thanks for your feedback - all comments (good and bad) are helping me to improve the site.

The errors accessing it might be caused by the fact that i am hosting it with a company called freenetname which have supplied me the domain name for free in exchange for using their isp and their homepage. i cant afford to pay for a hosting service (and i dont want banner ads) so at the moment i am happy to stay with the current service, although sometimes unrealible.

at the moment there isn't anytning more to the site than the photo album and my fave links but this is changing soon. i wanted to get a proper nav and colour scheme system in place before expanding the site to 'supporting and promoting the south coasts creative talent' (the site description i will be adding underneath the title logo this weekend) - with local art/band/dj/pub/club/venue/promoter info.

i wanted to get the navigation and layout sorted before i begin to expand it and i thinki am nearly there - what do u think?

i might add the feedback etc. links to the bottom of every page - GOOD IDEA! i suppose the more peoplt see it the more likely they are to fill it in.

what do you think of the expanding nav?

thanks agian everyone!

Expanding nav? Where is it? All I saw were text links within the content.

In this week's Outfront Newsletter the following article was featured. It could be a lot of help to you: http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/badnavigation.html

did you follow any of those links within the content?

try going to the photo album section, then into one of the photos. you can see the expanding navigation at the top.

i have read all of the webpages that suck site and try my hardest to not have mystery meat navigation.

i would be grateful if you could comment on the (currently limited) expanding nav.

appologies if i confused with my description but i didnt mean a navigation bar that expanded when the mouse is moved over it but the location navigation that expands like so:

[ home ]
[ home ] : [ photo album ]
[ home ] : [ photo album ] : [ fancy dress party - pic 01 ]

I really liked it, was super quick to load which is a rarity with the "turtle stampeding through frozen molasses" modem I have. I added it to my list of site to revisit! Mucho Kudos!

I LOVED!!! the Atari-esque graphics!!!! Makes me feel like a kid again considering my first gaming console was an Atari.

thanks for your comments and i'm glad you'll be coming back to outofthevoid! its changed again (prob the last update to the overal design i'll make for quite a while) i've taken off the old-skoll-arcade sprites (sorry MysticNight but i like to keep the images changing every now and again to keep visitors on their toes!) - hope you like the new ones, they may be a little slower to load but i'll be optimizing them soon . . . the site also has a difined purpose now! grateful for any comments - good or bad!
