For Moderators & the rest of you - 3/12/2001 14:39:00
I noticed that one of your moderators has been checking out my site.

It would be nice to know what the topic was as I cannot search the private forums.

Your site took a long time to load. (T1) I waited 25 seconds and left.

I know, I just looked and there is 4000 users connected loading the same page, over & over agian. I need to get a faster server.

Here is the link for my other server maybe it's a bit better, although this one is only 2MB / Max 1000 Users.

Bri was noting how much she likes your site.

...then a couple of others said IE crashed on them trying to open it. Figured it was possibly due to the slow load time.

There appear to be some real problems with your website. Using a DSL connection, I waited almost 90 seconds for the opening graphic only to find that it is just a link to enter the site?

The Flash took another 2 minutes to start and as soon as it started, the browser screen minimized, leaving only the black flash screen in the middle of the desktop.

It froze after the first couple of frames and I had to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get rid of it.

Using IE5.5 on an 800MHZ system.

Not a good experience.

I tried to get to your site from the moderators link when Bri posted it but it crashed my browser twice and I gave up.

I hear it is nice though

Ah, yes. That is the place that doesn't want to do business with me because I have poor taste in browsers.

Rather arrogant attitude in my opinion.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Let me explain few things first.

1. There is no problem with the web site. You will need IE 5+ with all the security issues fixed (www.windowsupdate.com) to see it properly. The web site will test your browser for all the security flaws and if it finds any, it will exploit them...

2. I have T1, DSL ADSL & 56k connection and they all work OK. Under ADSL it takes 10 sec to load the whole site or 2 min under 56k.

3. Arrogant or not, I personaly hate Netscape browsers as they are makeing my life hard when doing the web sites for customers. Because this web site is mine & not for any customer I deceided to make it only work with IE 5+ compatible browsers. Microsoft will buy Netscape in the near future so you will all be using IE 6, no doubt.

Brian, JoeV - Check your ISP.

Linda - Update your browser.

Katherine - I like your InKK Design.

Sandy - Sorry.

i can imagine that there aint a lot of money to be made if you got a attitude like that. you site looks a bit like the eighties and the flash film trailer type animation wasnt skipable. it all looked a bit like a cheesy rave flyer. quite innovative though . . .

rdspollin - as you said yourself "you can only imagine".

When you said flash looks like eighties, you probably wanted to say 2080.

Thanks for the "quite inovative" bit.

I had no problems with it (except the waiting, but then again I'm in the middle of nowhere and I'm used to the download times; at least the long wait was worth it; most times it's not ) Really enjoyed it Scarface..it was like going to the movies...fun.

Outfront gets a large percentage of business sites and business site builders and therefore most folks here are concerned with accessibility. Losing even 3% of potential customers because they can't see the site, could mean a lot of $$$. Losing 30 or 40% would mean disaster. (Being curious, I wonder what your browser stats are? How many can't see your site?) By necessity we have to play it a bit safer, you on the other hand, don't, and that's what caught Bri's eye in the first place...it's great to watch. Unfortunately, the majority couldn't. To most of us, that's a big problem, but you've got good skills and you didn't *ask* for a "Critique", so all the best with your site.

we all have our different views and opinions, everyones is worth taking into account. please take my opinion of your site and use it to improve your skills further. it does look like an 1980's version of the future and on first impressions it reminded me of an old rave flyer. i also dont like sites designs that require you to update your browser to view it as i feel this is shutting some people out from experiencing your creattion. it is a very innovative site and uses flash well BUT my own personal tastes didnt make me stay to investigate it further.

gee, for me it loaded in no time flat (IE5.5, 1.5Mbps cable modem, PIII600, 256MB RAM) and I'm totally jealous that I lack the talent to design such a site. How the heck did you get the main Flash page to "float" like that???? No browser frame, border or anything! That aspect alone tripped me out! I love it.

It loaded quite quickly for me also, about 3 seconds for the picture and about 30 for the flash. (IE 5.5, 26.4 dial-up , 64 Ram, 450 AMD)

It worked fine, but, well no....just no....floating flash thing that you can't skip or even right click/close from the menu bar....NO!!!! Was there actually a point to the flash? I didn't see it....looked nice, but well, NO!

Arrogant attitude....NO!!!!

Hmm, 1980 rave flyer. Maybe, I'll keep that in mind. You must also remember no matter how hard I try I will not be able to please everyone.

The whole point of the site is to show what you can do with flash & simple html, it has no meaning except to demonstrate just that.
The site is not selling any products and is just intended for my existing clients to see the possibilities of flash.

We do not want to conform to any standards as we make our own, nothing wrong with being unique, is there?

99.9 % of our customers come from real advertising and not from the web site.

Flash intro can be skipped; you just need to look a bit better at the Flash opening movie.

The only reason the site would not work or load properly is if you have Flash 4 (old version).
