Copyright Issue? - 9/2/2003 18:17:16
I have a client that wants a song to play during the Flash intro to his website. Well I'm not a fan of Flash intros or music playing (when I don't want it). That being said! You may or may not remember a song named "Amy" by a band named "America". Well my client taped himself singing this song and he wants me to place it as his intro song. I told him it broke copyright law he said it didn't because he was singing. In short: I'm correct aren't I??? What about some great (horror) copyright stories I can bring to my clients attention. Thanks! Rich

I found the site. It's a little hard to navigate but you can find what you need. http://www.copyright.gov/ How to Investigate the Copyright Status of a Work http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ22.pdf
