scrolling 'latest news' good or bad? - 3/23/2001 20:52:00
i've recently added a scrolling 'latest news' section to my site http://www.outofthevoid.co.uk/ and need honest opinions on whether you think its good or does it annoy just you?

Hmmm, I'm on a OC3 at work and had to give up after the page was "loading" for over 30 seconds! Is it the server or what?

i think its the server. its with a company called freenetname, its not an amazing service but its free and doesnt have any banner ads. i think i'm gonna have to move it to freeservers or something.

Yep, the page took an age to open here also on a little 56.6 connection - I went and had a cup of coffee while I waited

I like the news scroll though. In fact I like they way you have incorporated it a lot, it is low key and slow and so not distracting.

Just noticed one other teensy thing - in your opening paragraph "...tell us about what your doing.." should read "...tell us about what you're doing.."

Also, South Coasts needs to have an apostrophe...both in the title and first paragraph...South Coast's.

Hi,

Looks good - came up pretty quick.

The scroll is a bit fast for me.

"most people think that the only thing to ever come out of southampton is craig david." Never heard of him - I though it was Matt Le Tissier

Cheers
