Any suggestions on this layout? - 3/28/2001 20:12:00
Just one page with no working links so far, but I want to be sure of the layout and design before I get after doing the whole site... www.rubymarketing.com/quilts

The client didn't seem overly thrilled with it, but is willing to let me do whatever I want since I have the experience and she doesn't know what she wants anyway. yippee! ...but still, it's kind of hard working on it when I know she's been "underwhelmed"

The swish will be all off-white (bye-bye blue text). Any input regarding the looks, the colors used, anything! I was going for something simple and professional. The photo is a place holder until I get all the photos and info from her.

What does this need?

Hi Linda,

The layout looks fine to me but I think the green is a bit dull - especially compared to the colourful quilt. I'd go for someting more jazzy or brighter for the top bg.

I think the menu boxes on the left would look better if they were separated into two.

The top links need to stand out a bit more I think - I missed that at first glance.

I like the right hand graphic and logo and the bar at the bottom finishes the page off well.

Cheers
Andy

I like the green, but what do I know? The links at top do need to stand out just a tad more. Other than that I think it looks pretty spiffy.

I like the design but not the green. Unless of course the actual quilt photo for the front will be green. Did you try a navy blue or dark red?? The green you have on there looks really christmasy on my browser.Maybe if it was a different green. But then again my monitor has seen better days and will not be with me much longer so I guess you really shouldn't rely on me for color advice.

Ok - What's the joke? I get a blank white page and clicking the "source" option is not available?

OK - an update. I get the same white page with no source at rubymarketing.com - BUT I can type in the IP and get both pages? Do you have some strange script?

Yikes!

No joke. Are you still having this problem, Gil? Are you behind a firewall? ...why would it have a problem with the domain name, but not the IP address??

As for the other comments... hmmm... back to the drawing board, I guess. Thanks.

Still getting a blank page w/ no HTML at home (firewall is 'loose').
But, here at work (tight firewall) it is fine.

Really strange....

Looks great to me. My husband has trouble positioning the mouse over a link and getting it to click, especially on the laptop at home, so the better they stand out, or the bigger they are for those who are inexperienced with a computer the better. On my monitor, I could hardly see the word Quilt in very dark green. I had to squint to see what the word was. Looks like it will be very easy to navigate.
