1 - You really need text links on the Splash page. One line at the bottom would do it and not mess up the looks of things. The graphic links aren't overly obvious, and since they are made with a javascript, some search engines aren't going to be following them. 2 - Look in the Tips forum for an image preload script (should still be on the first page) posted by Kruiser. It took a really long time before the first image change showed up for me.
A quick look at some other pages; everything seems good. I'm not crazy about the bullets - you could always modify the theme to change those if you want (give the theme a new name if you do, so you keep the original intact
). In the boxes on the right, have you tried these with a white cell background and black text?
Lots of content and looking good... but it doesn't mean a thing if the viewer doesn't click through to get into the site. If you can't get the client to lose the splash page, keep an eye on the stats - that may tell him what he needs to know.

ps - I didn't look in Netscape, but since you used some absolute positioning it's bound to be messed up on those images.
