OK Folks, Sock it to me! - 3/29/2001 20:39:00
This is a site I built recently for an ISO 9000 consultant. He chose a professionally designed theme from the theme store and I did the rest. Please let me know what you are seeing as I have positioned several graphics using absolute positioning. Thanks!http://www.9000-2000-iso.com Matt H.

The links are located in the arched text over the spinning globe. I don't necessarily like this splash page (or any splash pages for that matter), but my client insisted.Matt H.

1 - You really need text links on the Splash page. One line at the bottom would do it and not mess up the looks of things. The graphic links aren't overly obvious, and since they are made with a javascript, some search engines aren't going to be following them. 2 - Look in the Tips forum for an image preload script (should still be on the first page) posted by Kruiser. It took a really long time before the first image change showed up for me. A quick look at some other pages; everything seems good. I'm not crazy about the bullets - you could always modify the theme to change those if you want (give the theme a new name if you do, so you keep the original intact ). In the boxes on the right, have you tried these with a white cell background and black text? Lots of content and looking good... but it doesn't mean a thing if the viewer doesn't click through to get into the site. If you can't get the client to lose the splash page, keep an eye on the stats - that may tell him what he needs to know. Linda ps - I didn't look in Netscape, but since you used some absolute positioning it's bound to be messed up on those images. ------------------ Ruby Marketing

Hi Matt. Please look at it in Netscape (something besides NN6). On the splash page the globe is covering a link and there is an unexplained purple splotch on the other pages. Sandy ------------------ www.alleghenyweb.com

I had no idea those were links. I'd add text links for sure.... ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away? "

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments and suggestions. It sounds like I have a little work to do before going live with the site. Thanks again.Matt
