css items not added to style menu

Hi. My css items are not being added to the FrontPage style drop down button on the toolbar and are not showing up on my pages when viewed in html view. However, the properties are being applied to my pages in preview mode and when published. I'm finding this very frustrated. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Thanks, Lisa

Are you adding the stylesheet is it external or did you place it inside the web page? What version of FP? Thanks!
