I made this site for an artist friend a few weeks ago. If you have time, I'm interested in finding out what you think.

www.dwightsmithart.com

It's graphics-heavy, so I'm concerned that it might be too slow for dial-up users. Any thoughts?

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have 26.4 throughtput and the site was fast for me. I love the mouse overs, the sites loads so very quickly, I've been through every page in maybe two minutes or so (had to stop and look at some of the great work, 1st beach oil painting is my favorite.) Very nice job. Don't forget to put in meta tags so search engines can find the site. Viewed on IE 5.5.

I really like it good job. I would put in alternative text links at the bottom of the page in case someone has their graphics disabled.

Hi!

The home page took about 35 seconds to load on my dial up connection, which, especially for an art site, is not bad at all.

I love the simple layout and colors! Great collage!!!

It would be nice to have some way of telling what page one is on. One suggestion would be to remove the white nav button for that page and insert the red one. It will not hurt your JavaScript.

You really do need alternate text for the graphics.

Absolutely beautiful site! The artwork is great and you have done well displaying it.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I recently found out, much to our delight, that we succeeded in getting it listed in Yahoo.

I'll start implementing your suggestions as soon as I have time (the "real" job has been taking up some time lately, so I haven't had much chance to "play" with web stuff).

Thanks again.

I liked it very much. It downloaded quickly.

BTW, I am in the process of setting up an online gallery for artists to sell their work. Perhaps your friend would be interested, in addition to having his own site. The cost spread over 15 artists will be about $2 per month. I haven't added the shopping cart system or merchant acct. yet. It is still under construction at:

Let me know if there is any interest. Thanks.
