I am a beginner, doing this site as a favor.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I would like to know if I've made any really stupid mistakes and would also like to know what you think from an artistic point of view, if that makes sense.
Thank you in advance. I really love this site, I've learned so much here!

Hi Paula,

The site's looking smart.

I get horizontal scroll on this page: http://pauladetar.virtualave.net/gwtw_tour.htm - probably because of this line <table border="0" width="106%" cellspacing="4" cellpadding="4" height="240">

The home page was a little slow to load - maybe it's your top graphic at 40k - you might want to split it into smaller bits and file sizes.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy
Thanks for looking at the site. I'll fix that page with the scroll, don't know how I missed that. I'm not sure I know how to divide the graphic up into smaller bits. Could you elaborate? or point me to a tutorial? I really appreciate the help!
Paula

Hi Paula,

Cutting up images, known as splicing depends on your graphics program - I use Fireworks, from macromedia, makes the job very quick. You could also use the crop tool if you're very careful with your measurements. Optimizing the results should make the graphics load qiuicker.

Any problems, post in the graphics forum here.

Cheers
Andy

Very nice looking site, indeed.

Don't forget alt text for your graphics and your meta tags.

Sandy

Thanks Andy, I'll probably be posting to the graphics forum! I'm going to see if I can figure it out first.
Thank you Sandy! I forgot about alt text, I can handle that. Meta tags I'm going to have to work on. I love this forum, everybody is so nice. Thanks again for the help!
