Take a look - 4/17/2001 21:47:00
Ok. I have been reading other people's critiques for some time now. So, I am ready to have a site I have been working critiqued. Note...I will not keep the geocities guestbook. http://www.geocities.com/circleofwomenorg

Looks pretty good in both IE 5.5 and Netscape 6. I'd lose the Construction signs, but that's just a personal preference.Aside from that, I notice that you've used AlgerianBasD as the font for your page header. This isn't a common font, so most people are going to see the header in their browser's default font. I'd recommend using a graphic for the header if that's the font you want. And under Cafe Lounge, you have "This is were we will host..." rather than "This is where...". Other than those minor quibbles, it's a pretty nice start. Good luck with the site.

I like the layout, and the two-tone approach - simplisty works. But I'm afraid brown just doesn't do it for me I tried www.circleofwomen.org ... and it redirects to your geocites space. Can I be nosey and ask why that is? and how that works? Wouldn't it look better staying at the .org. In the UK you can have your own shell account for £45pa, and a domain for £20pa ... this works out at about US$3.5 a month. That's less than a bottle of wine in my money - well worth it. ___ cap ------------------ absolutely nothing to do with the LA Lakers laker-media | laker-images | laker-abstract | me

HiI think you need to put abit more colour into it. Brown is not for me. Are you going to move the bottom frame up when you delete the construction symbol? This would help with space and for people who have low res. Or there will be alot of wasted scrolling done. But other wise you have started well. ------------------ Cheers Roz From the frying pan into the fire!!!!

Hi there.Actually, I like the colors. I would definitely get rid of the construction graphics and concentrate on getting the site together and up. Be careful of the phraseology in your text. Be extra sure you are expressing what you are intending. Good start. Keep going. Sandy ------------------ www.alleghenyweb.com

It's a lovely site - I liked it a lot - I liked the colours too ( normally those colours wouldn't appeal to me ) But the way you set them off against one another worked very well. They gave the just the impression you were aiming at, one of warmth and of comfort. Well done! It is very obviously under construction and were I in your shoes I think I'd take the comments made by the other responders to heart. Anything else? No I don't think so. It's a nice fast site that will I'm sure meet the needs of those at whom it is aimed. Keep going and once again well done. Gorilla. (aka marksaunders@techie.com )

I just want to thank all of you for your input and counsel. I will take all of your advice. I have already changed the color scheme and I will take the constructions signs down. The site jumps to geocities because I have it fowarding over there. With Yahoo Domains you can get a domain name for $35/year. You can get a one pager with Yahoo or have that domain fowarded to another location. In the next couple of months I will hook up with a hosting company. This way provided a affordable solution quickly. Keep checking the site out. There is more great stuff coming and I will keep asking you wonderful people to critique. I just want to end saying that this is the greatest form on the Net! Folks like me who are just starting out can get some good feedback. Thanks Again! Knowledgephile knowledgephile@yahoo.com
