OK I’ve stuck my head in the sand for two weeks now and it’s time to eat the humble pie. I have started trying to make a web site with Microsoft Font page. I assumed I could just poke at it and learn then start with a goal in mind and finish. Well things got out of hand and I created page after page really feeling good about the results. It looked decent and it was acceptable so I just kept adding htm files and jpg until I realized I had 4000 plus files, 1400 internal hyperlinks, 285 jpg images and a flock of time invested in the effort.

All is saved in html (including my home page), images, themes, and what else? Checking reports I’ve closed the broken links and cleaned up the slow opening pages. I know what the home page is like and how to find it but I’m not sure of how to get a browser to identify it and go from there. Had I not just been goofing around I may have flowed the instructional steps. Now I can’t seem to figure out how to assemble this package to make use of it.

Is there still a way to save all the effort that when into this. New Bee is one thing but a not so swift bee is I.

You need to check with the hosting company & find out what file name they require most are:
index.htm
index.html
default.htm
default.html
index.asp
default.asp

Or just consider renaming you home page to index.htm & upload. Or if you are running MS FP 2002, open your web, righ clcik on your home page & choose Set as Home Page.
