Just looking for opinions on the look/design of this page before I show it to the client. It;s a little different...

I have done nothing to optimize it, cross-browserize it, etc. Though, it's pretty simple and should be o.k. in most.

I really like the look, it's simple and very easy on the eyes. Are you going to carry the background image throughout the site?

I didn't plan to carry that image throughout because there a product photos that will be displayed on the inside pages. Not sure what the inside pages will look like at this point...

It looks good. Search engines will be looking for text, though. And you will need to optimize. It was really slow loading.

How slow goober? FP says 34 seconds at 28.8. I can't optimize the background image any more and have acceptable quality. I can shave about 5 seconds when I optimize the text graphics.

I thought it might be a bit too much if you did. Maybe you could carry a piece of the larger image through on your other pages to keep the look and feel of the home page and use similar colors throughout.
