e-Business Portal Critique - 4/25/2001 20:57:00
I put together a web portal focusing on e-business initiatives. Please let me know how I can improve it.

Nice job Dave, I can tell you put a lot of time into it. I realise it is a "portal"site but have a few suggestions mainly based on personal preference.

When viewed in IE things are crowded together a bit more than Netscape.

We need to remember that the web is driven by "visuals" as I call them. You have a lot of info on that page. What if you were to just list the catagories on the main page and add some nice photos? To me, not everyone who visits will be interested in ALL that is listed on the index page, but if a subject catches their eye they will click on it and there you could have the sub-catagories listed. I find it very difficult to stay on a page that is one huge list....but that is just me, others may feel differently.

Hope this helps or gives you some other ideas.

Hi Dave,

I'd go along with Jim particularly regarding links to outside sites - I'd try to get people into my site before sending the off elsewhere.

You might like to tidy a couple of things up a bit - I think the pages would look better with your borders set to zero in your body tag and get rid of large table borders around some of the titles, a smart graphic heading I think would look better.

Best of luck with the site.

Cheers
Andy

Noticed that your News and Research gifs are not lining up with the rest of the column underneath. Research appears to be wider than the column and News is narrower viewed in IE 5.5 800X600.
