Critique please - 9/26/2003 1:43:20
Just found this site and it looks like what I have been wanting. I guess the best place to start is have you folks look at my site and tell me what is right or wrong with it. Then I can start asking questions to make it better.
It is basically a travelogue w/pics of 2 fulltime RVers for family, friends and anyone else interested. Most people email me about the 'movie set visit' and the pics following it. Guess they find it the most interesting page.
Thanks for any help
DICK

Hi Dick, You have a nice site. One suggestion?

On the movie set area, you introduce the topic with long, long narrative. While the text is interesting, what if you broke it up? Introduce some of those excellent photos of Gibson and you on the text page.

Find a way to make it about three pages long but broken into distinct URLS. Then let the 4th be the remaining thumbprints be a gallery. Thanks for serving. Your comments took me back as well. Dave

Hi Dick and welcome to Outfront.
I think you already know there needs to be a little bit better navigation:), using the back button to get around well, :). You have a lot of information on your site and to sidewalks point you may want to break some of the longer pages up and sprinkle some pics in with the text as well, you've got some good ones. Here's a concept for the nav. Have the main sections (your years) as links from a left hand column with the sub sections linked from a right hand column. Just a thought:)
:)
One last thought, do you really need the "splash" (enter) page? It just holds visitors out for one more click.

Dave---
Welcome Home!!!!!! And thanks for the comments. I do get windy sometimes and breaking it up is a good idea.
Mike---
I like what you did there but I am basically rookie at this. Started out with the tutorial then did it again with my own info, and each time I update the page I try something different. Last update was the tables. Haven't reached the point where I even recognize how you did what you did.
Thanks to you both for your comments. I really appreciate it.
DICK
