Another Site Critique - 5/8/2001 15:34:00
I would be grateful for some feedback about my website http://www.eventsalive.co.uk It has been live for about a year and the general feedback from users is pretty good. I was trying to take a detached look the other day and came to the conclusion that it was beginning to look – well - a little dated to say the least.

I would welcome some suggestions as to how I might spice the site up a bit. What should I add or delete from the site? Or should I leave well alone, bearing in mind that the number of hits are still increasing and the site is beginning to attract advertising from local attractions etc

I personally think the site should be continually evolving but would appreciate any comments.

Many thanks

Looks pretty good, although I would have tabled all of the content into some sort of interface. I never liked my text to flow across the entire browser window. But that's just me.

Hi, Andrew.

I think you have a great idea for a web site. I also think it's a good idea to keep it fresh and improve upon it as you can.

The first thing I would recommend is trying to find a different way to display your ad banners at the top of the pages. That Java applet takes an awfully long time to load. Maybe search for a JavaScript to take its place.

You might also look at your navigation buttons. I think the colors of your logo and page are very nice, but the buttons don't really "match."

Best wishes,
Sandy

Hi Andrew,

I'd go along with the comments above and add a couple more. The site name/logo looks a bit detached on a black background - why not make all the top part black for example, or another colour so the logo forms part of the page.

I'd tidy up the layout in general, the forms could do with aligning and I would be tempted to add small graphic titles to each section.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers
Andy
