An Internet Sailing Club.. - 5/11/2001 23:33:00
Appreciate you're comments on how I can improve our new (& small) sailing club Web site. This is my first attempt at a site, although I've played with FP on and off for a bit.

http://www.psf.f2s.com

I pimarily use IE v5.5 in which it seems fine. Netscape 4.08 is OK for me, although the Hover Button menus seem to take a bit long to load and black box in which they are contained has a 'rough' right hand edge.

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated!

Thanks people.

Richard

PS: I have to admit to having taken some inspiration for colours etc... from Outfront.net! Thanks Thomas!

Hi, Richard.

Appropriate color for a sailing site.

Please look here for a word on FP hover buttons: http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/003663.html

On the Members List page, the table appears to get cut off on the right side (NN 4.7) 800x600 resolution. A nifty way of doing tables is to lose the visible borders and make the cell colors different than the background. It might tidy up the appearance of the page some. I also wondered about having the names link to info rather than e-mail. You already have an e-mail link for them. --just a thought.

I might also suggest moving the logo above the navigation menu so the content could be moved higher on the page.

Don't forget to add alternative text for your graphics.

You have good content. I hope your group enjoys the site.

Sandy

Sandy - thanks for your suggestions. Everything makes sense & I'll play around with the tables and colours etc... (do you know of an example you could point me towards?) aswell as the logo which I'd love to move in some way to as you say, get the content higher up on the page. I find if I reduce the dimensions of the graphic it loses definition.

Thanks!

Richard
