Simple Site - 5/12/2001 20:03:00
I have put this site together on a shoestring budget for a volunteer organization.

Any comments or suggestions?

Very nice site- I'm not an expert, so I don't have any suggestions, but I like it!

Hi Doug
It's a good job. Plenty of info, good navigation, pages load quickly.

You DO need some meta-tags so the search engines will be able to find you. The only thing I found a bit off-putting was the text size seemed to change from page to page - quite small on the home page, and bigger and in some cases bolder on the others. There may be a reason for that and it's not a real problem - just a little quirk of mine.

Hi, Doug.

Not too bad for a shoestring.

The About button is not rolling over (at least in NN).

I would suggest a little more content for the home page. I wondered what state Mississauga was in...until I got to the About page.

The map is cut off at the bottom on the About page.

It's important to keep your navigation style consistent. The main nav is good, but the secondary needs a little attention.

Text size needs to stay consistent.

I would suggest having links open in a new window when they take viewers off site.

Good luck with it. It appears to be a useful site for those in your area.

Janet:

Thanks for your comments. I will get going on the meta tags and fix the text sizing. Constructive criticism is the best way to learn!

Looks good.......but, if I can make one suggestion.....change the top banner from having the page title. When you first get to the site, you see "home" you could just use an image with perhaps the site name accross the home page......

"but thats just my opinion, I could be wrong"

Not to bad for a shoestring indeed ! :-)

I had a look at it in both Internet explorer and Opera.

It's always a pleasure to see someone get the best out a product.

I do agree very much with the comment by the previous respondent "mt" about changing "Home" to Something else.

Hope this helps :-)

Thanks for your comment. We could develop a series of pictures that could change seasonally and add some interest. I appreciate your comments.

Thanks for your comments. I especially appreciate you validating the site in Opera, as I don't have that installed on my machine.
