What makes a website commercial/non-commercial? - 10/11/2003 10:30:01
I think I know the answer to my question but want to make sure.
Yahoo! defines a commercial site as one that "sells something, promotes goods and services, or promotes a company that sells goods and services."
What about a site with its entire content focusing on educating visitors about a particular subject? It sells no products or services but carries affiliate and google ads? Has the site itself now become commercial since it carries commecial ads?

I have been wondering about that myself since I have both traditional commercial sites and informative with ads type sites.
My gut tells me they are both commercial since I am profiting on both types of sites.

Here's what I've heard and think the take is right:
