:):):):)

Try it out for yourself selecting some really ugly font such as (on Windows) Algerian. Comment out a few font declarations elsewhere in the sheet.

Once you've stopped screaming in horror at what it has done I suggest you undo it as fast as you can :)

Next put in some other font at the start of your * declaration such as a "handwriting" type font. and again see what it does.

Here is a good link for font family information. Worth bookmarking.

http://www.upsdell.com/BrowserNews/res_fonts.htm

Now I am off to cook dinner, it is my turn this weekend - good night.

Well I do not wish to boast so let us just say that people never turn down an invitation when they hear that I'm the one doing the cooking :)

ROFLOL!
Now, I heard from a very excellent source via the grape vine, that Fiachra is an excellent chef!:):):)

Here is what I have done so far with the homework,
index page doesn't have too much done to it,
http://c.1asphost.com/c1sissy/index.htm

The products page I have started working on the table in there with the embedded sheet. Won't validate xhtml/css yet, too much work in there. But it is a start.

RE: css homework - 12/6/2003 10:51:41
New homework assignments! I'm having lots of fun learning all the CSS stuff!
http://c.1asphost.com/c1sissy/lvshomework/week4_1b.htm
http://c.1asphost.com/c1sissy/lvshomework/week4_1a.htm
http://c.1asphost.com/c1sissy/lvshomework/week3.htm
http://c.1asphost.com/c1sissy/lvshomework/week4_2.htm

Now I need to move along as the 6th week is posted today and I still have the rest of week4 to do as well as week 5.

All my quizes I have managed to score between an 85% up to a 90%! There was one quiz I did retake as I had recieved a very low score. Lesson learned there, read questions really really good before answering them!:)

Wow Deb, you covered many subjects in your latest 4 pages. Great work. Seems to me like your learning each aspect very well.

Walking your visitors through what your doing on each page is great for me. I wouln't have known what to look at, or what to look for otherwise. Thanks for stepping us through.

Cheers :)

AWESOME, c1sissy!!!

I love, LOVE, LOVE the page for week three, where you used the .linechange span! OH MY GOSH! I've been wondering how the HECK do I change a line of text without changing the entire paragraph! ( I want to do it for my bulleted lists...have the first line be bold and a different color; have the rest of the text on that section be normal...then, the next list item, first line bold/color, rest of item normal...etc..) Does that make sense to anyone else or can only my muddled brain understand that.

I've read about it in my CSS book, but for the life of me I could not figure it out until I saw yours in action. So cool.

Thanks for posting your work. It is a great help to the rest of us CSS newbies.

(I think I'll always design with CSS now, but golly...it's a long road. But I refuse to go back to font tags and table dependence! I've finally experienced the freedom of CSS designing!)

Here is the link for my next assignmnet. I had difficulty with the z-index. I think I'll go to code punk and use their tutorial on z-index to see if I can grasp it.

I really wanted to learn the z-index as I can see that there are some really cool things that you can do with it.:)

:):)

Host is apparently down. I have emailed them as I have made repairs to the homework and want to get it p osted. Plus I have questions and I need the instructor to be able to look at it. I have been trying all morning to get in there. I was working along validating the xhtml, then went to do the css and got a timed out from the validator.

Ahh well, guess I'll get to some other things in here that need attention! Like start my cookies! And other things, boring wash, boring cleaning,etc...lol.

<edit> Its up right now!!</edit>

Hi Deb

The Page Cannot Be Displayed message is due to a Connection Refusal. I've got my web connection to display the reason for it rather than the bog standard.

It's 1ASPhost giving it Too much bandwith used, take a break
