To Spooky Login or Not is the Question - 6/8/2001 20:55:00
Hi,

My website www.hoopsking.com features streaming video of basketball drills. I want to cover my butt in case someone tries to say they died or where injured dribbling the basketball as a result of watching my videos.

1. Should I use the Spooky login to make them join and agree to terms. The only thing I don't like about this is that I promote the sales of video tapes by letting people watch a clip of a tape and this could hurt sales.

2. Put code on each video page so that a pop up window appears with the terms of watching and then diappears all the while not interering with the video itself.

3. Put a link to a disclaimer.

4. Put the disclaimer on all video pages.

What do ya think?

Thanks,

Chris

I would probably opt for putting the disclaimer on each video page.

Options 1 and 2 will likely turn away viewers. I don't know if Option 3 would provide sufficient notice to cover your butt.

It might also be a good idea to create a page called something like: Your Health, explaining that it's a good idea to have a physical exam before initiating any exercise or sports related activity...to stop if any pain is experienced...to be sure conditions are safe, such as having a clean, uncluttered floor, good shoes, etc., etc., etc.

It couldn't hurt anyway.

Sandy
