1 form works..other doesn't - 10/20/2003 16:38:16
I have a site with 2 forms. 1 works fine, the other gets this error: "FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details. "
I've tried to build it over and again and even published a 1 field form to test, still the error.
The good form is @
http://www.tmcfi.org/cpe_applications.htm
The bad form(s) are @
http://www.tmcfi.org/cpe_applications_full.htm and
http://www.tmcfi.org/1.htm
any clue? our tech is scratching his head!

Sometimes there is an issue with validation.
If you take all of the validation out and then add it back in one at a time you may find the problem.

sorry, but I don't know what you mean...the 1 field form doesn't have any validation (that I'm aware of). PLEASE explain.

Hi sherimora,
The FrontPage Error message seems to appear most frequently when there is something wrong with the file path.
The only significant difference between your work and non-working forms, seems to be that the working form has a file destination.
I don't know why, but I have had trouble myself occasionally when attempting to send to only email.
It doesn't make any sense to me really, but try setting the same file path for the remaining two forms, republish and see if this makes a difference. Then, if you want to alter the path, just make sure to create the file and place it in the _private folder.

The form started working when I removed the "send to file" and only are using the "send to email". The other form is being sent to both (identical files/email) but perhaps the conflict was the send to files?!
