Font size changes when previewed. Help! - 10/21/2003 23:17:38
Please tell me what is the likely cause of size change of some, not all, text from the normal mode in FP2000 and the preview mode (and when published.) Briefly, here's the condition:
I have four pages, each with a table-of-contents for the same book. Due to the length of the book, I had to use four pages to keep my FP2000 from bogging down to a crawl on my system. The arrangement is a table with three cells as columns, the left containing chapter numbers, the center with corresponding chapter titles, and the last with page numbers.
Table text font is specified as Times New Roman, size 10. In normal mode, all columns are equal height and text lines up across the three for chapter, title and page. The font is size 10 as it should be.
In preview mode and on the site when published, on the last three of the four pages there is a common error. The right column font changes to 12, thus lengthening the column; the other two remain at 10 as specified.
On the first of the four pages, all text increases to 12 in all three columns. The vertical and horizontal spacing is correct except for being larger due to the larger font. The text also is larger in two other spots on this page, one being another table below the 'contents' table and the second being a 1-line table just beneath the banner. So, some text is larger than specified and most stays at 10-point as intended.
I have not discovered the cause of the problem but don't know enough to feel sure it wouldn't be glaring to a trained eye while undetectable to a novice.
