A pleasant surprise - 6/11/2001 20:13:00
Was just told about a site for some info I was researching, and so I went there to give it a look.

BAM....it loaded almost instantly, as did it's subsequent pages. Very clean, nice navigation. Found everything I needed in a heartbeat.

Naturally, I checked the source right away, and found that it is Frontpage based.

I have no idea if this webmaster is a member, or even aware of OutFront, but they should be commended for a really nice site.

A good example of simplicity and functionality.

If you have time, check it out. If you like it, let them know.

Hi,

If you did a site with minimal graphics, then it's going to load very quick - I won't pass judgement on the site as it hasn't been asked for but it's pretty easy to get around and fast loading.

Cheers

Andy,

I know this site is a bit short on some things, but for me it just seemed to work real well. Guess my only point was back to that old simplicity/functionality thing.

Thanks for taking a look....

Hi Bill,

I totally agree with you on the simplicity/functionality thing - a shame some of the designers of some of the "major" sites didn't think of their users before wading in. I've given up on several sites today where I couldn't get the stuff I was looking for and there was another we've been asked to redesign and I have absolutely no idea how many pages/sections/sub-sections there are at the moment - can't give the URL cos I might lose the contract

Cheers
Andy

Great point. I've come across some sites like this where they have everything I need right within a few clicks... and they are fantastic! Good content and quick loading counts for a lot.

Thanks all, for the comments. Have you noticed the changes being made to the Forums as we email back and forth? I'm kind of digging the new colors and look. Has a somewhat softer look.

Dang, I'm beginning to sound like an interior designer. AAAAaarrrggggghhhh !

Oh wait, that's Gorilla's trademark. Sorry G.
