Hi Steph, can you give us a hint where to find it?

www.niceshotsphotos.com

It's looking good, but I'd prefer to see the font set to Verdana or Arial, and the home page has a horizontal scroll bar showing up in 800x600.

For your file names, I'd suggest going with shorter ones. Instead of Portraits_by_nice_shots_of_madison_indiana.htm, portraits.htm would be better.

I'd drop the counter and I'm not sure if I like having a guestbook on a business site.

The images are very nicely done. I'd add some more images as you are able to... like for the senior photos and special occasions.

Hi Steph,

No wonder you're excited

I had a look at your site using opera (so now you know it works under opera too )

There are a couple of things:

Definitely I'd get rid of the counter - any counter with low numbers won't inspire confidence in a visitor looking for a professional service "only 300 visitors - I'll look elsewhere ..."

I think I'd get rid of the guest book too - why not have a testimonials page instead? That way you:

1 keep your visitors on *your* site.

2 Give a much better impression of professional service.

A major niggle: - call the link to your home page "home" - visitors expect it, so it's best not to confuse 'em.

Emphasise your contact info much more - bigger font - maybe at the top of the page?

(Don't forget to put your site address on your business cards, flyers, invoices, etc.)

Last point - I liked your site - it works well going through it I got a real impression of someone who loved her work and was justifiably proud of her art and of her achievements. If you can find the time - instead saying things like "Stephanie is .... could you put it all it the first person

"Stephanie Hellmann has been selling her photography for many years. She has won numerous local awards and her work can be seen in restaurants and shops around town."

to

"I've won numerous awards and you can see my work in shops and restaurants all over towm. I've been selling my art/photos/work for many years .... "

Sorry this was long - hope it helps 'though.

I agree with all the above... and can't add anything more technologically speaking. But I can give you the simple, businesslike impression of your site.

I liked it a lot. It's easy to get around, sticks to the point, and definitely conveys the message. Any tweaks as suggested above will merely fine tune an already good looking site. Simplicity and functionality. Those are my bywords in all this.

Well done....hope it really helps your business.

Thanks to all!!!!!
Your suggestions were extremely helpful! I have changed the site (Except for the guestbook which I will take out as soon as I have the testimonial page finished). Would mind looking again; especially 1) font choice 2) Location of business name and address.

thanks again!!!!!!

Hi Again

Had another look (again using opera) and a *very quick* look with internet explorer. I would say definitely an improvement.

Store seems fine to me from a practical point of view. From a design standpoint I liked the way you'd put everyhing into a "photo frame" a lot.

It also sparked a memory. As it happens I did a site for someone in the same line as business a few years ago (Now happily retired and living in Corfu - envy envy . ) His wife suggested that we provide one page giving a sample photo card (5*7) with a sample photo (4*6) So that people could actually see the sizes. I remember him saying that people had commented that it was helpful. - Just a thought.
