"Save as" -- why me? - 10/30/2003 15:57:35
Ok, I'm totally at the end of my rope!

FP2000 is the app.

For some reason when I go to one of my 4 sites, mind you, only with ONE of them... I open a page, the I make a change and try to use "Save As"... I get the "Save As" box, then the hourglass cursor... then the old "Send Error, Don't Send Error" Deal.

I've tryed uninstalling and reinstalling both FP AND XP... no luck

I'm totally desperate!

Thanks

Pete

Are you opening this site live on the server or locally?

bobby,

This is a live site that is hosted on a live server, this has been up and running since 1999.

It only happens on MY destop machine.

I just uninstalled ALL of MS Office, and reinstalled it, yet again. STILL the same problem.

I bummed.

I know I can copy file>rename to work around this, but I want it right!

Thanks,

Pete

Is this site on the same server as the others you mentioned that aren't having the problem?

It could be related to server permissions... even if they're at the same host company they could be on different servers.

Have you tried publishing back to your HDD and trying to work locally, then publish changes back to the server?

Just an idea...

I doubt very highly that it's a problem with your local machine, or you'd be having the same trouble with all of your webs...

bobby all the other sites are on the same server (physical box) -- and this problem does not occur on any other machine but *my*desktop. My laptop works fine, all the other desktops in the office work fine... just *THIS* machine.

I have no clue -- short of formatting this drive down bare and doing a full reinstall. Something I don't wish or have the time to do.

:(
