I have had a "know it all" person tell me that the home page takes to long to download and that the graphics need to be brightened. I don't know if I agree, so I wanted different opinions. i looked using opera.

I don't agree with the know it all The homepage loaded for me in 5 seconds flat. The tour page however took 30 seconds precisely.

I use a tool from tafweb called webspeed which gives me a very accurate speed indicator for pages and or grpahics - you can also arbitarily set a "web congestion" factor

It's free from http://www.tafweb.com - and is far better than frontpage's own estimates - their other freebies are superb also, .

Have you tried optimising the images? They looked fine to me - but i'm not particularly a "graphics person."

Home page took almost 20 seconds for me. Whether that is aceptable or not is up to you.

I like the design but agree that the images are not as good as they could be. I think the main reson is that they are photos saved as gifs which is not usually the best choice for photos. Saving them as jpgs and then optimizing them would probably reduce their size.
