Hi there, I have a site of mine hosted on hostsave, I am trying to get it uploaded and when I go to the url - www.wedwear.com I get this odd message screen saying that it's forbidden with an http error 403. Does anyone know what this is?

You don't have a homepage file in your directory. Normally, the first page of your site is default.htm or .html, or index.htm or .html

So, you need one of those. Your host can tell you what it is if it's not index or default, but those are the usual ones.

I double checked and it is saved as index.htm but thanks.

Well then, either the file name was changed on publishing, or you didn't publish that page because there is no index.htm on your site:

http://www.wedwear.com/index.htm

404 - Page Not Found

Open the site live on the server with FrontPage and have a look.

I see what you mean, so I republished just to double check and it's claiming a successful publish, but when I click on the "view your site" i get the bad page... arg!

That could be a caching problem - try clearing your browsers cache - and frontpage's cache (click refresh) and see if that fixes it.

Again, open the site live in the server with FrontPage. Do not just republish. See if the homepage is there and what it's called.

Hi there people,

I sympathise Samantha, I am having a VERY similar problem. I published my web to server blah blah, but when I or anyone tries to visit my website I/they get a bad page:

"Forbidden
You do not have permission to access / on this server
Apache/1.3.27 server at (my website) Port 80"

ARRRGGHHH!!!!! Anyone know what this means? Why can't I visit my website????????????????????????????????
