I just added to my family site. I'm not thrilled with how this looks.

How do I get the header to go all way across the page?

Under the header "sports" is too far over.

I have never used the slide show, and am wondering if I did this correctly, and if there is a limit to how many pictures you may use?

Since this is just pictures of a hockey game, should I have went with a different layout? Or is the slide show ok? Pictures are self explanatory, so I did not want to add any text.

How do the pictures look? Are they clear?

Also, the bottom of the left hand column of the page, each time I load I am missing the graphic at the bottom. I have to edit live to get this back in here each time I upload. I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue as well.

I love the family sports page.
I see you put some great hockey photos in.
Was excited to see them - being an x-player like I am.

Header:
Do you mean the area that says "Riendeau Family Happenings"?
On my 1024 / 768 disdplay it does go all the way across.
Or do you mean the 4-links in the squares above it?

I like the way the page looks overall.
And the slideshow works great on my computer.
The individual pictures come up great in the center.
Makes me wish I was there to cheer your son on :-)

I guess it depends on how many photos you can fit on your page - that determines how many you can use in a slideshow? But that's only a guess...

Over all I think your page is great. Five Stars : [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

When I first visited your family Page it was from the link in your PM.
But I just clicked on the link that says "Family Pictures" from your link in this post (below) and it's taking me to ebay???

<Edit> LOL Summer thanks, I had my page up for a bit due to a phone call so I didn't see your post until I posted mine! Thanks again! And believe it or not, all I did was publsh from the site because I messed up somthing and couldn't fix it, so published back to computer!</edit>

Kristy, what is it that you would like to know? Is it how to find free web hosting?

All you need to do is type free web hosts into google search and a list of them should come up and you just check them out! Let me know how you make out

The site appears to be back up again. I really like the pictures, c1sissy!!

But it's got a HUGE horizontal scroll... :-/

But I noticed near the bottom that a virus warning ad overwrites the bottom of your page. It looks like your copyright area?

K- That is on of my questions! Should I leave the slide show? Or should I place a normal picture page? I also dont like lots of scrolling as well.

Personally, I don't like the scrolling....

what about a java script slide show? I have one on this site that I don't particularly like (but the client does...so that's what counts) but there are other kinds out there where you can click to advance to the next frame..

It's right there on the main page. (you'll also see my husband and three kids on that page...can you guess where? I love hiding them in websites like that; I feel like Alfred Hitchcock doing a secret cameo or something, only it's not me but my family!...reminds me of those DVD easter eggs. LOL)

Crap!! I had that slide show working right in mozilla and netscape, I SWEAR!! This is the last thing I want to do tonight...or maybe it's my graphics settings.

Does it work, or is it just me? ?? LOL, always a dilemma....


PS....must be my mozilla settings as it works in netscape 7. hmmmm....

Ditto, I agree with you totally on this one!

I did look on the link that you posted, but? where is the slide show?

The slide show is really no big deal to take off. I wasn't too thrilled with it myself.

I thought that it made the page too large, which of course gives you a ton of scrolling to see the pictures.

I prefer a smaller screen with no scrolling involved. I also adjust the photo albums accordingly. If I have tons of pictures, I'll just create a continual page to deal with them. Even long side scrolling sort of annoys me. Give it to me plain and simple on the pages, I don't mind going to another page, just all that scrolling sort of boring, lol. But then that is just me, and maybe the longer pages are ok with lots of pictures.

Since they are just pictures of the hockey game, I could always go with the montage layout. They are really self explanatory. A brief description above the layout would be enough.

btw, I love your sites, I dream of being there one day! lol.

The slide show is on the right of the page; it's multiple pictures of houses and prices...it may take a minute to load as she wanted every single house on there...the pictures keep changing automatically. It DOES work in netscape. evidently, mozilla sees it as an animation as it won't play it (I have my mozilla preferences set to loop an animation only once)

I would do any realtor's website as long as it's a simple one like the ones I have done so far. (if you'd like to see my other ones send me a PM as I don't want to hijack cissy's thread! ) I've done five different websites from three different offices so far....I like it, but it's getting difficult to maintain impartiality as they're all competing with each other.! I do my best, but it's hard...but I don't want to turn anyone down, either. They all understand that I'm not going to give away any secrets. But it's kind of weird at the same time! Fortunately, they handle the marketing of the site; I just build it.

The Poconos is a great place to vacation. I personally would like to move to Tennessee, as would my husband (he's a builder and would prefer a warmer climate while still having four seasons).

This is a site critique, if there are things that would help others by looking at yours , grin, and lookin at mine, then no problem at all! I enjoy other li nks to sites, and yours are good ones.

I'm not sure if I am going to leave the site with the slide show, and since I know absolutly NOTHING about any scripts, I think that I'll just go to a layout that doesn't cause any sort of wrist problems from over scrolling![;)]

It's working now?
Maybe an ISP problem?

Get this:
Last week I had a mini catastrophy DUE to MY ISP.
I did some work on pages that my client requested.
Later that night my ISP had a problem and went down.
During the evening they restored their server from a backup two days prior.
I did NOT know my ISP restored the server from 2 days prior.
The next morning the client is on the phone asking me where the changes were.
So I'm telling the guy "I did them yesterday. The changes are on the server."
He's telling me "No they're not."
I grab my FTP_Pro and downloaded the pages back.
The work was gone.
The client was right.
I had to upload them again.

Now I look like an A** because my ISP went and restored their entire server from 2-days ago and DIDN'T tell anyone. And I pay a high monthly fee for that NT server too.

Moral:
You just NEVER know what's going on at your ISP.

I think that it was a toss up between the host and the validator.? Maybe?

I contacted the host and they are trying to reinvent the problems that I had today. Imagine trying to work and save to the file manager, ONLY to find out that what you did, didn't save! [:@]

So what do you think of a montage layout for the photos on the sports page on the site? I could do a multiple page layout which would eliminate scrolling. I also have pictures of my daughter from field hockey to add as well. page for her and page for him? his and hers sports section! lol.
