yankeegirl -> Forms help!!! (11/10/2003 10:28:35)

I am working in FrontPage on a website for my company . I really know nothing about programming, etc. I have a form in the website that I want to display a certain page depending on a users response. My website is www.loganair.com and the form I have questions about it the "Online Estimates" form. What I want the form to do is change based on question 5 of the form. For example, if the user responds with 2 tons, after they hit "submit" I want a page to display a message like, "your investment will be $50/month", and so on with each value up to 5 tons. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to do this? I do not need the responses to be saved to a database--I just want them to come to my e-mail address.

Welcome to the forums...

It sounds like you'll need to use some kind of scripting...

Dynamic responses like that are possible in HTML (tho it's really more a matter of creating a new HTML page for each possible response - big pain in the neck) but using ASP or PHP, or even Javascript you can work out what you're trying to do pretty easily...

The biggest problem you'll run into is that Front Page forms don't tend to play well with back-end scripting, so you may have to rebuild the form without using Front Page components (if you haven't already)
