Here's my new site www.lydan.com What do you think. I'm still giggling to my self about spending a measily $15.00 ( $ 22.50 Canadian) on the template Global business http://www.frontpagecommerce.com/shop/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=1&cat=Best+S elling+Web+Templates ( I hate doing graphics ). The ASP store side of things was produced using store front 5.0. There's still lots to do but at least the cart functions correctly. The silly little fp2002 top ten list is on the http://www.lydan.com/search1.asp page take a look before i delete it. ( useless) updates only once a month. Looks great and works great, but <sniff...> I miss the old site! Oh, well... Thomas has had to put up with that problem from many of us with different changes he's done here in the past. We get used to it and get over it. You've done a great job incorporating the shopping cart. Check your frames borders though... they seem to be set at default instead of white. Wholesale needs to be capitalized in Nav View. Great having "Canadian Prices" in a highly visible spot like that. Linda

Any advice would be appreciated the attached page http://lydan.com/cartstatus.htm has script in the head section that causes it to break out of the frame when called from the cart image in the lower right frame search result. I here from people that it does not work properly in NN or opera. Does any one else see this. It works ok in IE.

Is my site boring ? Is it mechanical and lacking pizazz ? I'm the only person to get three responses of which two were from me.

I'm sorry about the lack of response. It's hard to critique a site done on a colleague's template. At first glance it is very professional. I would suggest changing the logo to .gif format. There is some degradation from saving it as a .jpg. At least try it to see how it does. The product photos seem too small to me. I cannot see the details I would like to see when shopping online. The red borders around the thumbnails don't match the color scheme. If I click on the thumbnail on the shopping cart, what's supposed to happen? I assumed I'd get a larger view of the product, but it just came back to the same page. I'd like to see you remove the backgrounds from the photos. Some of them don't look real sharp against the white background, mostly because of compression degradation, some from slightly different colors of white. There is a sentence you may want to look at. In the right column, "You save 33% just on the exchange." Who does? UK? Australia? US? And in the paragraph where it's talking about wholesale...mage = Image? There is no period after the last sentence in that column. ooops. I just clicked on the link to see what was "new" and was sent to a page with no navigation. On the search, about, and contact pages, why no top level product navigation? I would keep that on all pages. After all, it's the meat of your site. People like to jump around when surfing web pages. They may look at a couple of things, decide to read about your company, then decide to do business with you, but if they've been surfing using the horizontal links...they're gone. Wholesale is still not capitalized in the nav bar, but needs to be. Generally, the site is quite attractive, I mostly think you need to emphasize the product to a greater extent. Good luck with it!
