web site layout - 8/13/2001 16:10:00
I would welcome some feedback on my site. In addition, could someone tell me the simplist way to enable my pages to appear full screen at 800 x 600 on a 15 inch monitor. Is there a set sequence I could type into the code at some point.

I have received some advise regarding tables etc. However, I have not suceeded as you will see with the 2 Test pages accessable off the Links page.

Thanks in advance.

The sideways scrolling is a big turn-off. Your table is set for 900+ px. - You need to use a % (100?) for tables so they will adjust to the browser size. BTW, my resolution is 1268 X 760 - but my browser window is 740 px wide.

Hi, Matrix.

You still have a sizeable side-to-side scroll. Not only should you set your tables to be 100% wide, but you need to be sure the width of your graphics does not add up to be wider than 760 pixels for 800x600 resolution or 595 pixels for 640x480 resolution.

The red header is rather large. In NN 4.7 at 800x600, I can only see the word, "quality," in your Swish movie. Viewers should not have to scroll down to see it. They are going to miss it.

I'm not crazy about your buttons. They look cheap (sorry). Plain text links (bold) would look nice. I believe I would also lose the hearts at the top. Think about what people are looking for when searching for a wedding photographer...discreet and professional. I don't mean to be offensive, but the hearts strike me as kind of "jr. high." I think prospective clients would much rather see some examples of your work scattered throughout the site. Some well-done still photos would be worth a thousand words.

You might even consider including a few very short video clips for viewers to download and see. But do keep them short. People don't like to wait.

I would make the text black and smaller...more professional.

Also, it would be good to work with tables a little to keep your text from spreading across the whole screen.

Don't forget to give your pages short, descriptive titles. The word, "title," doesn't say much.

Good luck with it! With the kind of work you do, you should be able to come up with a visually pleasing, interesting site.
