vteccruzn -> working on this site.... what ya think? (8/18/2001 20:39:00)

HEY GUYS< I"M BACK AGAIN<

and can you let me know what you think of this design? my friends idea, and i went with it and was wondering what ya'll think? I"m not the creative type, so if you guys can direct me in the right direction, would be much appreciated. Also the logo, i'm thinking of scratching,,, should I keep it or redo it?

Also, I'll be selling auto accessories, soon as i get the shopping cart to work from revecom(paysystems) which I signed up, but their systems doens't have a way to upload pictures long with product listing... whatta dumb cart IMO.... but since I paid for the app fee, i should work with it... well sorry for the longwinded post, can you give me site feedback! Thanks...

It would be easier if we had a url.

Hi.

There are parts that are worth salvaging and parts I would scrap.

First, the splash page does not match the inside pages.

The Logo on the inside pages is quite rough and needs to be redone, making sure you anti-alias it.

It's really hard to read the text on the striped background. I would make the background solid. I do like the graphic thing on the right column (even though I'm not sure what it is). I'm planning a layout right now that will have something similar. Be sure you are consistent with the font face when you get to the real thing.

I don't think I'd choose pink links for your site.

Finally, this is just a warning...If I can't see pictures of what I'm interested in buying on the Internet, I go elsewhere. Imagine how popular the Sears or JC Penney catalog would be without pictures.

Good luck with it.

Shirley,

I think you are right! I'll just keep things simple. Thanks so much!

I like the blues in the back but Im not thrilled with gradient silver. The links could use some contrast. They are very hard to see. Maybe a font like verdana, 10pt, and bold. Id make them darker in color if you intend to keep them against that light gradient.

Never seen the old site so I cant compare.

Good Luck!

It looks slick, which is cool, although there are two things offhand that I would look at changing.

1. The links on the nav bar - change that color, the light blue is damn hard to see. Infact, I would bold the links, and perhaps enlarge them, they are small, and at the moment I think they are too discreet
