Web Backup - 12/12/2003 22:04:56
What is the best way (simple) to back up a web in case everything crashes? I was thinking about online storage. I'd like to be able to replace a web asap and with the least amount of work if bad news happens.

Welcome to the forums zenman

Normally, I work locally & then upload everything to my server. That way, I have a copy of my web @ http://www.mydomain.com & I have a copy locally

zenman,

I'll ad to Corey's comments by saying it's all about insurance: In addition to a local hard drive copy, I: (1) burn a backup CD and (2) publish the web to a different server as a sub-web.

If my hard drive crashes, my host crashes, my CD is corrupted, there's always a good copy on a foreign host which can be published down. Helps one sleep tight :).
