Teen Site - 9/22/2001 17:35:00
Hi,

I've redesigned one of my sites, The Writing Exchange:
http://writingexchange.cjb.net

It is a site for teens and college students to post their writing and poetry for feedback, or just to show off.

My question is about the navigation. Is it easy enough to get around the site and figure out how to search, read, and post? Any promotion ideas would also be helpful (I've done a press release already, which has gotten me most of my visitors, along with a Yahoo listing.) Thank you!!!

Jego

A lovely site for me to see,
Sunny yellow and blue as the sea
And although you had such good intent,
I am not so keen on the textual indent.

I thought "oh boy, it's set up so fine,
that I can easily see where to post my lines!"
Alas, I go and I can not...
I can only seek...someone else's thot.

You said "Read & Post" so I looked on that page
Just found it at left....but it took me an age
Minus, Minus, Greater Than, Greater Than and so...
Now I'm a titch confused...what to do, where to go?

I love that the stories are forefront and posted "above",
Lovely words filled with angst and with fear and with love,
"Newest Posts" is a lovely idea, I do say
As is the concept, so I shout "Hurray"!

And I think that you might be a little more proud;
make your Logo much bigger to show to the crowd.
As far as promotion, I'd go to About,
the Forum for Freelancers won't kick you out.

It's a super idea and with a few little tweaks,
You'll be known world-wide in a couple of weeks!
Now call me just silly, but I'd like to see,
just one pretty graphic, but maybe that's just me.

I'll be off now...to write out... my life's deepest thoughts,
Shall I submit it? Perhaps better not.
Oh wait...a restriction? How old did you say?!
Oh, Heaven's to Betsy! And I'm darn near gray!

Alas I agree,
a few problems have thee.

Jego said quite nicely,
what needn't be said twicely.

A little work will do,
and I bid you adeu.

Wow Jego, I'm very impressed. You've put me to shame.

Thanks for all the comments, I'll be making the changes soon. I understand the navigation problem and I understand why you would be confused.

With this site especially, I forever am owe OutFront and the Spookster for his database instructions. All the ASP pages were built with instructions from this site. Thank you.

By the way, I want to apologize for anyone who may have gotten the 404's earlier today. Somehow, I accidentally moved a few pages around and made the site virtually inoperatable.
