My navigation bar isn't showing on my published site - 1/1/2004 7:16:43
Hi I have my site published using Frontpage Extensions & all has been fine until now. I changed to a new PC a few days ago and have installed Frontpage 2002 onto the new machine and copied all of the web files into it. I updated my site yesterday but when I view it, the navigation bars are not showing. My web has been set up exactly the same way as it was on my old PC and includes shared borders where I put the navigation bars. The navigation bar is visible on each of my pages when I preview and all of the hyperlinks & navigation structure is correct. However, when I publish the web the navigation bars do not appear. All other hyperlinks are working. How can I correct this as I am baffled as to what has gone wrong. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Happy New Year Yvonne My site is at http://fp.ymv13.plus.com

Hi Yvonne Try opening your site live on the server and use FP to publish the site back to your hard drive on the new PC. This process will assure that all the supporting files are pulled down with the site. Good luck, Swirl

File >open Web > type in http://fp.ymv13.plus.com/ in the web address box. > It should ask for your Login & Password. Once a page has opened up you can then go to FILE >Publish >and choose a spot on your C Drive as the new location to place your new working copy of your web. I would at least try to "Recalculate hyperlinks" on your current web copy first (which is in TOOLS)

As Garry said, Recalculate Hyperlinks, and then check in navigation view and make sure it's all showing up. You probably ran into the problem because you copied the folders rather than publishing them. Best way to avoid the problem is to publish to your website from your old computer and then publish down from the server as garry instructed. If all else fails you can delete your navigation structure and redo it (if you don't have too many files it won't take too long) and your navigation bars should start working again.
