Cosmetic Dental 'Extreme Makeover' Site - Did I miss an... - 1/10/2004 2:47:15
Hello. I was wondering if my dental website is missing anything. Any input... 'the good, bad, or the ugly', would be truly, truly appreciated! I used FP2000. (Of course, free consultation for all who give 'aid and comfort' to my site).
Thanks,
Ed Reifman, DDS

most looks ok - you need to look at some of your pages like http://www.encinosmiledr.com/wisdom.htm because the menu overlaps some text.

Simply as an advertising point: I'd be wary of using terms like "leading edge", "innovative" etc. Why? Your web site doesn't reflect those ideas. If you REALLY are all of these things (and I don't doubt for a minute that you aren't) your website needs to reflect that. While there is LOTS of GREAT content, the design looks home made and doesn't reflect your dental expertise.

I hope this doesn't discourage you - you've done a fine job.

Ed,

Yes, I agree with Micah. There is considerable disparity between the well thought-out, easy to navigate and comprehensive consumer friendly content versus the visual presentation. The effect, and this is Micah's point, is your obvious Dental skills are improperly showcased which, in turn, could actually hurt instead of help your practice.

The hard work is done. Bite the bullet :) and move content to a professionally designed template or have a graphic artist design one for you. You can get some template ideas at www.pixelmill.net or contact Tom & Bonnie Brunt at www.frontpagewebmaster.com for a "ground up" approach, the latter being my recommendation.

i totally agree - $50 and a few hours work will transform your site or for a little extra $ there are plenty of people that can help you here.

Wow... I truly appreciate the input. Its an eye-opener. OK, I'm ready for a new template. Do you recommend any particular one for my site to purchase?
Thank you,
Ed

Ed,

"Blue Circle Dental" is the best.

A suggestion: Ask Teri Carnright (Developer) to replace text links with compatible buttons - will round-out an already attractive site (few $). Teri seems to favor flash lately which negatively influences load-time, but her templates are, for the most part, first class. If you don't see exactly what you want, she can design it from scratch - she designed my site template 4 years ago and I'm hard to please. As an understatement, anything you spend in this regard will come back to you several times over.

Micah, again, is ahead of me here.
