can't publish? - 1/17/2004 8:49:27
I had to reformat our hard drive and re-install our programs including FrontPage 2000. I imported a copy of our web site that was stored on a separate disk. However, when I try to publish to the web, I get this message: The server you are publishing to does not have FrontPage extensions installed! Does this message refer to my computer or to our hosting site? (they claim that FrontPage extensions have been installed) I've read the help files on publishing and they do mention a program FPSRVDM that I may need to run. I thought when you install FrontPage it did all of that stuff for you? What am I doing wrong here? Any help would be a big, big help! Thank you

extensions are on the server. If you post a url then we can tell you more. It also may be a path problem. Make sure when you publish, that the dialog box sayshttp://www.thenameofyoursite.com and try it with and without a slash at the end.

Our web site is:http://www.nileschristianassembly.com. However, you will not see it there. Somehow, we lost the nameserver (or should I say DotRegistar.com did) and as a result, our site went offline. Our hosting company was not sure where the problem was, so they decided to delete our domain, then reset it. And that I would have to re-upload our site.) The nameserver problem has been solved. Our hosting company says they have installed FP extensions, and that I should be good to go! And that's where I am. Everytime I try to upload using http:// it says the "server you are publishing to does not have the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. Does this error mean my hosting company? Do I have to have them re-install FP extensions? Or is all this trouble on my computer? Thanks again

The above URL is the exact URL I am publishing to. If you mean the DNS entry, I have sent an email to 247experthost.com our hosting company requesting the numerical address of our site. I haven't heard back from them yet! I hate to sound like a dummy here. But I' never had any problems uploading or maintaing our web site through FrontPage until we had to switch hosts and move to a new registar company. Even our initial move was successful. Somehow, I'm stuck on Dotregistar's Free Parking feature and can't seem to get any help from our hosting company. I'm about ready to chuck both of them out the window and find a new hosting comapny!
