Publishing in Geocities - 2/13/2001 20:50:00
I have two problems. First one is an existing site that I publish to Geocities. I cannot change geocities so I need to deal with it. When I go to publish I get an error message that says the internet service provider doesn't accept front page extensions and under details it says 301 error file has moved. I understand that the internet service provider is not the problem that Geocities is but I don't know how to contact them. There isn't a telephone number. Help.Second, I created a new web site in Dreamweaver and transferred it to FrontPage. I cannot publish it as geocities keeps asking me for user name and password. I am typing it correctly but it keeps asking for it. What can I do?

both problems are server extension related until you get a hold of someone from geocities your stuck with the problem.you say your not able to change from geocities, ok fine i don't know your situation. but let me ask you one question can you right now maintain your site effectively? ------------------

marylandcindy, you are aware that the Geocities Frontpage publish URL has been changed?However, even the new publish url is down. I can't get in to update my pages either.

Geocities FP publishing is working again as of yesterday. (Feb 18, 2001)
